For postgraduate applications, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree. Institutional background plays an important role, with graduates from top universities having a competitive edge. However, students from other institutions can strengthen their applications through strong supporting materials.

GPA requirements typically start at around 80%, but competitive programs often expect higher scores, sometimes exceeding 85%. IELTS requirements generally range from 6.5 to 7.0, with some programs specifying minimum scores for individual components.

Application materials are critically important. Personal statements must clearly articulate career goals and motivations, while recommendation letters should highlight academic or professional strengths. Relevant internship experience, particularly in finance, consulting, or technology, can significantly enhance an applicant’s profile.

For undergraduate admissions, Hong Kong universities primarily consider Gaokao results. Top institutions usually require scores well above the first-tier threshold and may conduct interviews to assess communication skills and critical thinking.
